Though it was the last week of school for the great year of 2012 the students continued to push through and work away like elves in Santa's workshop. The Advance Ceramic students have been angels and have really pushed themselves in terms of creativity and execution with their portrait vessels and independent studies projects. Instead of blabbering about what they have been making I'd rather visually educate all of you wonderful readers about what the students have been creating! ENJOY! (FYI all students and their parents have signed release waivers so I can publish their beautiful faces and artwork!)
To the left we can see Adam is creating an organic ceramic piece which is constructed by using the coil technique.
To the right we have Ms. Hailey who is working on her fun portrait vessel!
To the left is Kristina who is taking the time to finalize her portrait vessel that consists of two faces that can be displayed up-side-down or right-side-up. Either way displayed, there will be a face looking at you!
To the right we have Madison who is working on her Asian inspired portrait vessel. Madison is very in touched with her Asian heritage and background.
To the left is Mary working on her independent study which is a coiled bowl!
To the right is the lovely Ms. Mia who is working on her Madusa inspired portrait vessel that also has two faces incorporated in it! Mia had an "oops" while initially creating the vessel which turned into a great happy mistake and brings her piece to a whole new level!
To the left are two wonderful students, Steliana and Shannon. These two keep each other in check and have lots of fun in class. Steliana is working on her independent study project and Shannon is glazing her portrait vessel with a gradient of blue glazes.
To the right we have Ms. Wager advising Madison with her portrait vessel. Oh, the wise words by Ms. Wager...
To the left we have Ms. Zara working on her hooded portrait vessel. To state her vessel is beautiful is a complete understatement. In the background is Kristina working hard!
To the right is another image of Zara working on her amazing vessel. Zara is using different colors of teal, blue and black in her vessel! I can not wait to see how it comes out!

I cannot get over the quality of the work that your students completed. It will be so wonderful for your teaching portfolio to have student work of this quality. You should be very proud of your accomplishments at AP, Samantha! You took on the challenge of learning new mediums, then teaching those mediums at an incredibly high level. Well done!
